Rossi: “There are many factors that you must be careful of”

After a dominant victory in Spain, momentum is on Valentino Rossi’s side for the French GP.

The Spanish GP saw Valentino Rossi produce one of his most dominant rides, crushing his rivals and pulling himself back into the title hunt. Rossi now has the chance to take his first back-to-back victories since 2009 and add to his three previous MotoGP™ victories at the track. A fourth win would also help Rossi close the gap to championship Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) who currently has a 24-point lead over the Italian. The 2015 British GP saw ‘The Doctor’ put on a master class in wet weather riding, skills he may very well need to call on again in France as the weather will almost certainly be unpredictable. Since stepping up to the premier class in 2000, Rossi has only missed out on the podium five times in Le Mans. Rossi needs to keep his momentum from Jerez going and continue to claw back points on Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo after the crash in Austin.

Valentino Rossi: “Le Mans is a track where the YZR-M1 usually goes very well. The negative thing about Le Mans is the weather, it is always very uncertain. It can rain, it is often cold and so there are many factors that you must be careful of. Last year I had a good race but I was not able to beat Jorge, I'll try again this year. First we will start the weekend in the same way as we did in Jerez. There we found a good set-up on Friday and this has helped us to be competitive in the race. We will do our best also in Le Mans.”
