Petrucci ITW: “It’s like a dream that came true”

Danilo Petrucci chatted to motogp.com about his Silverstone podium in 2015, the season so far and how it feels riding alongside his heroes.

Petrucci scored his first MotoGP™ podium in the wet at the British Grand Prix in 2015 when he finished second behind his hero Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) and the Italian has become known as a real personality in the paddock since.

"Then I turned my head and there was Valentino!"

Discussing what it was like to stand on the podium next to Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) last season, the Octo Pramac Yakhnich rider was in the usual self-depreciating mood: “After the champagne I woke up a moment and I said: It’s not so different than other podiums…then I turned my head and there was Valentino!”

He also looked on the bright side of the injury he sustained to his right hand at the Phillip Island test that saw him miss the first four races of the season: “These days when there is rain or the weather changes, for sure now I have a weather forecast station because the hand gets some tension and some pain. Everybody say if you have one problem, you have an opportunity, and now I have the opportunity to know the weather one day before.”
