Binder: “Around 80% of the things have been positive”

Brad Binder comes away from a two-day test at the Red Bull Ring - Spielberg happy with the work he managed with his team.

The three week summer break for the Moto3™ World Championship was interrupted for Brad Binder this Tuesday and Wednesday, with a two-day test at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider was able to ride at the track for the first time, ahead of its debut on the Grand Prix calendar on August 12th-14th.

"What really matters here is that you push hard..."

The two intensive days offered championship leader Binder the chance to get the measure of the new, fast circuit. The Red Bull Ring is 4.3km long, with 9 corners – 2 left handers and 7 right handers. Good weather allowed for Binder to put in a total of 190 laps, while working on a base setup for the Austrian GP, before rain at midday obliged them to cut the test slightly short.

Brad Binder: “These last two days have gone really well and I have enjoyed myself right from the first time out on track. The circuit is not particularly technical as it only has 9 corners, but what really matters here is that you push hard and make the most of each sector. It is possible to go fast at a particular point on the circuit but very difficult to do so throughout an entire lap. We have found some settings for the bike that have worked, I feel comfortable and our pace was really good. I want to take this opportunity to thank the team for the spectacular work they have done. Around 80% of the things we have tried have been positive, and that is not at all common at a test. We are ready for the race weekend.”
