Work still to be done for Iannone

Duacti Team rider leads the way on day one at the Octo British Grand Prix

Andrea Iannone heads the field after the first day of free practice action at the Silverstone circuit, courtesy of a late fast lap in FP2.

The Abruzzo-born rider ended the morning’s FP1 session in seventh place and then ran consistently quick laps in the afternoon. He ultimately set the fastest time of the day (2’01.421) on his seventeenth and final lap in the afternoon practice.

Andrea Iannone: “In FP2 we tried to change something from this morning’s set-up, but in the end we reverted to using the previous settings because I didn’t like the changes very much. On this circuit it is very important to get the rear of the bike to work well and we are focusing on this aspect. Tomorrow I hope it doesn’t rain because we still have a lot of work to do – me, my team and my race engineer, who is also helping me find the best lines on this track.”
