Marquez: "My feeling was good in the dry and wet"

Championship leader set to backtrack on setup after Q2 crash

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was fastest in FP3 on Saturday morning, but the rider from Cervera effected a small setup change prior to qualifying that didn't give him the improvements expected. The 2-time MotoGP™ world champion then crashed when pushing in Q2, but had set a lap good enough to remain in the middle of the second row as he watched on from the sidelines in a rain-soaked Silverstone. The points leader expects to be stronger in the dry, as the forecast for Sunday looks much improved.

Marc Marquez (P5): “My feeling was very good both in the dry and wet, but we implemented a small change to the setup for the rain that didn’t work as expected. I went out in Q2 and couldn't feel the rear tyre too much, nor did I have the confidence I had in FP4, but I decided to push and try to do a good lap. When I was about to do the next, final lap, I ended up crashing. Nevertheless, I’m pleased because in general the feeling was very good and we just need to return to the previous setup tomorrow.”
