Lorenzo: "Good pace and good feelings"

Reigning champion P4 on day 1 and comfortable on the bike

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was the fastest man on track at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in FP2, until the final few minutes saw fast laps come in from the three man who eventually led the way on Day 1. Lorenzo, whose race rhythm looked characteristically strong as he returns to a track that saw him take three consecutive victories in 2011, 2012 and 2013, will be grateful of more dry track time after weather conditions in Silverstone forced the 'Spartan' into a gamble on setup that didn't pay off. Lorenzo is satisfied with the positive start to the weekend and crucially didn't do a final lap on a new tyre - which could prove something to watch out for on Saturday.

Jorge Lorenzo (P4): "I‘m very happy because finally, after a long while, I feel comfortable again with the bike‘s setting and I can ride like I want and keep up a constant pace. We decided to change the front and rear tyre really quickly during the practice, so we didn‘t have the advantage to put in a new tyre at the end of the session like the rest of the riders. Because of that we couldn‘t be a little bit faster, but anyway I had a good pace and good feelings. Let‘s try to make another step tomorrow."
