Viñales pleased to be on front row again

Winner of Silverstone race completes the first row of the grid for the second consecutive Grand Prix

With a 1'32.381 lap of the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Saturday Maverick Viñales (Team Suzuki Ecstar) registered the third fastest time of Q2 for another front row start.

Indeed for the second consecutive Grand Prix the Spaniard is to start from third on the grid, this time slotting in behind by Yamaha Movistar Team pair Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, with Lorenzo setting a new best ever lap time of the Italian track for pole.

Last year Viñales started from 14th position on the grid at Misano and finished in the same position at the end of the race, but this year the Suzuki youngster has shown he has pace to fight for his third podium of the season.

Maverick Viñales: “I did an incredible lap pushing on the limit all the time. I feel really good on the bike, I have a good flow and I feel everything. Being on the first row is really important so I want to say thanks to the team for doing a great job. Tomorrow I think we need to improve a little bit but we are quite ready to battle.”
