Bastianini tops Valencia test

EG0,0’s new recruit quickest out the blocks in the last test before 2017

After a first test in Jerez, the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Moto3™ team continued their preparation for next season at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo with new arrival Enea Bastianini and 2016 former rookie Aron Canet.

With the Honda machinery on which he will compete next year, Bastianini was the fastest rider – after a second day that saw action rained off – and completed 81 laps with a best of 1:39.762.

The next time the Italian is on track with his new team will be at the same track in February, before which he will undergo minor surgery to remove the plate in his right arm from a previous injury.

Enea Bastianini: “After the testing in Jerez, where I worked with the EG0,0 team for the first time, this time we’ve worked a lot with the new bike. We concentrated on setup and finding a good configuration. Although we only went out on track on the first day, it has been a good two days of work because we were quick even on used tyres – so I’m leaving the test really happy. I quickly felt comfortable with the 2017 Honda, and it adapts well to my riding style. I was able to do a lot of laps and that’s helped me understand the bike in all circumstances.”
