Abraham summarises Sepang: “Very positive”

Czech rider gets back to grips with MotoGP™ in Malaysia

Karel Abraham (Pull&Bear Aspar Team) had a positive test at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia as he prepares to line up in MotoGP™ once more in 2017. The Czech rider, a Moto2™ race winner, is back in the paddock following a year in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship – having also previously raced in the premier class of Grand Prix racing for several seasons; a regular points scorer.

Abraham moved up the timesheets steadily to end Day 3 in P17, putting in 38 laps with a best of 2:00.445 as he gets to grips with his Ducati GP15 – cutting half a second off his best from Day 2. It was a positive test for both Pull&Bear Aspar teammates, as Alvaro Bautista took his GP16 into the top three for some of the test, and was seventh on combined times by the conclusion of track action on Day 3.

Karel Abraham, P17: “The overall summary of the three days is very positive. I have improved my lap time every day and today we managed a 2'00.445, which I think is faster than we could have expected before we arrived here in Malaysia. It has been three very productive days. We have tested a lot of things and it seems like they have worked, which is a very good feeling. I can head home from Malaysia feeling very happy and looking forwards to continuing my physical training programme now in readiness for the next test.”
