Viñales: “I felt like I was going to crash”

P6 in the #SpanishGP after a tough time with tyres

Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was top in Warm Up in Jerez after a more challenging weekend that far, with an equal laptime to eventual podium finisher Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team). The race was more difficult for the winner of the first two races of the year however, as grip issues and a different feeling on the bike put paid to a podium challenge.

Now it’s time to regroup and investigate ahead of Le Mans – the scene of his first premier class podium – with the Championship gap to teammate Valentino Rossi having grown, but Repsol Honda closing in.

Maverick Viñales, P6: “It was a strange day. In the warm up I was feeling really good, so precise in all the breaking points, but in the afternoon I didn't have the same feeling. I felt like I was going to crash in nearly every corner, so it was a really strange and difficult day for us. It has been difficult for both sides of the box. We have to think about what happened and try to improve for the next races, because we lost some important points for the championship.”
