Pedrosa: leader of the Valencia victory count

The ‘Baby Samurai’ has more wins at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo than anyone

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) is scheduled to make his 277th GP start in Valencia, moving him into a clear fourth place above Alex Barros in the all-time Grand Prix starts list. And it’s a good track for the Spaniard to do it, with Pedrosa the rider on the grid with most previous victories at Valencia – six.

“We head to Valencia in a positive mood, looking to try and finish the season with a good result,” says Pedrosa ahead of the event. “I always feel a good atmosphere there, and I get a lot of good energy from the fans!”

In addition, Pedrosa – the poleman in Malaysia last time out – says that they made a step forward during the weekend at Sepang, and it leaves him ready to try and take a second victory on home turf this season, having first been on the top step at Jerez.

“We made a step with our bike setup in Malaysia,” affirms the Spaniard, “and this gives us confidence for the weekend. Valencia is a track that I like a lot, I’ve been strong in the past and had good results so I hope that the bike works well there and we can do a good race.”

Good results indeed, with six wins across all classes and the ‘Baby Samurai’ gunning for a seventh – as teammate Marquez aims for the Championship.
