The ‘Beast’ tops the second day of testing for Moto3™, but Martin remains fastest

Tags Moto3, 2018

Enea Bastianini is settling into life at Leopard Racing, quickest of the lightweight runners on Day 2 of testing to beat former teammate Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) to the top. Behind Canet was his new teammate Alonso Lopez, with the rookie impressing in P3.

There were 13 Moto3™ machines on track, but three of those were CEV runners – including Red Bull KTM Ajo FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championship project newcomers Can Öncü and twin brother Deniz, the reigning Asia Talent Cup Champion.

Behind the top three, Day 1’s fastest and Valencia GP winner Jorge Martin was fourth quickest, ahead of the second Leopard rider of Lorenzo Dalla Porta. Martin’s fastest lap on Monday remains the quickest overall. Behind them, Andrea Migno (Aspar Mahindra Moto3) was the man in sixth, just edging compatriot Fabio Di Giannantonio (Del Conca Gresini Moto3). Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Squadra Corse), Tony Arbolino (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers) and CEV runner Stefano Nepa completed the top ten.
