Iannone confirms Suzuki split at the end of the season

The Italian spoke ahead of his home Grand Prix and confirmed that this will be his last season at Suzuki

Despite a strong start to Andrea Iannone’s (Team Suzuki Ecstar) 2018 season, the Italian confirmed that this year will be his last riding for the Hamamatsu factory.

Iannone has recorded two podiums in the opening five races so far, however speaking ahead of the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley, the number 29 told motogp.com that his relationship with Suzuki will come to an end. “So, we’ve worked for my future and my relationship with Suzuki at the end of the season is closed,” explained Iannone.

“This year started really well but last year was very difficult for us, so we choose two different ways, but I will try my best from here until the end of the season and Suzuki will try and support me 100% until Valencia.”

So, when will we found out who the 28-year-old will ride for next season? “For sure in one week, everyone will know about my future.”

Now, the question remains as to who will partner Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) in 2019…
