Team Suzuki Ecstar have announced that Andrea Iannone will leave the Japanese factory at the end of the 2018 season.
After a difficult first season with Suzuki in 2017, Iannone started the 2018 campaign strongly by scoring two consecutive podiums at the Circuit of the Americas and Jerez.
However, at his home round in Mugello, Iannone said that this season would be his last for the Hamamatsu factory – a statement Suzuki have now confirmed.
The question now is where will Iannone end up in 2019, and will come in to replace the 28-year-old at Suzuki?
