Ducati Team’s Andrea Dovizioso and teammate Jorge Lorenzo were at MotorLand Aragon on Thursday to complete another day of private testing, with official test rider Michele Pirro, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Team Suzuki Ecstar joining them on track.
Just like most of the other teams present over the two days, which also included Alma Pramac Racing and Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, the Bologna bullets were mainly concentrating on their setup for the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon, which takes place on the 23rd of September.
Round 14 in Aragon is looking good for Ducati, if the unofficial times are anything to go by. Lorenzo was said to have set a quickest lap of 1:47.6, pretty much identical to Maverick Viñales’ (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) pole lap from last season (1:47.635). Meanwhile, teammate Dovizioso set an unofficial fastest lap of 1:48.0.
Next up is the Gran Premio Octo di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, but can Ducati claim their first victory at MotorLand since Casey Stoner triumphed in 2010?
