Fenton Seabright has been quick from the off in the British Talent Cup, but the number 22 was missing a win. After Race 2 at Donington Park alongside WorldSBK, that’s no longer true as he pulled off a masterful move to take two-in-one on the final lap and defeat both Cameron Horsman and Scott Ogden, who completed the podium in that order.
Ogden took the holeshot from pole, with Seabright slotting into second and Horsman immediately launching through from the second row into third. It remained a freight train initially, but sure enough the top two started pulling the pin and a gap back to the second group squabble, headed by Horsman, formed. The number 23 didn’t have it easy, however, with Scott Swann dueling him as the top two moved even further clear.

With 12 to go, Seabright struck into the Melbourne loop and the number 22 kept it for a few laps before Ogden then struck back with nine to go. Again, the status quo lasted a few laps, but Seabright hit back to take over again…and the duel began.
That allowed Horsman, who’d escaped the second group, to really close in. And it didn’t take the number 23 long to get involved as he then moved past Seabright into second. From then on it was a three-way fight, and on the penultimate lap it was Horsman who bolted first as he took over at the front.
That gave him a gap over the line to begin the last lap, but it was soon gone as Ogden and Seabright closed back in. Ogden then went for the lead but down into the Melbourne Loop for the final time Seabright seized the opportunity and went for it – getting a two-for-one in a stunning move that would ultimately win him his first race. Horsman took second, just staying ahead of Ogden on the dash to the line.
Jack Nixon won the war for fourth, able to just pull clear of Brian Hart, with Rhys Irwin just thousandths behind Hart over the line. Charlie Farrer was seventh half a second off that duel, ahead of Jack Hart, with Charlie Atkins out-dueling Jamie Davis to complete the top ten.
Harvey Claridge beat Harry Leigh to P11, with Elliot Pinson, Zak Shelton and Jamie Lyons completing the points in Race 2. That’s it from Donington for now and next up it’s Snetterton, with Ogden keeping his lead but the fight for the Cup far from over. Tune in from the 19th to 21st of July for more!
