Kerb on exit of Chapel extended to avoid unfair penalties

Following Free Practice 2 at the GoPro British Grand Prix, MotoGP™ riders at the Safety Commission requested that the kerb on the exit of Chapel (Turn 6) was made longer in order to avoid unfair penalties.

As a result, FIM Stewards have acted quickly to now make the exit of Chapel (Turn 6) thirty metres longer and, therefore, track limits have been extended.

It comes following the initial lap time cancellation of Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT), Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Idemitsu Honda) for exceeding track limits, which were then reinstated following a review.
