Bastianini over a tenth clear on Friday morning

The Italian set the pace in Moto2™ FP1 at the Emilia Romagna GP, Lüthi his closest challenger

Enea Bastianini (Italtrans Racing Team) set a 1:36.262 in Moto2™ FP1 at the Gran Premio TISSOT dell'Emilia Romagna e della Riviera di Rimini top finish top of the standings by 0.171 seconds. Tom Lüthi (Liqui Moly Intact GP) was the Italian’s closest challenger in P2, with EG 0,0 Marc VDS’ Sam Lowes finishing third on Friday morning.

Lowes’ lap record, set in Q2 at the San Marino GP, came under threat in FP1 as Bastianini finished less than a tenth shy of the British rider’s 1:36.170 – a sign that the wick has been turned up a notch at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Hector Garzo (FlexBox HP 40) had a solid session to finish P4, the Spaniard sits just ahead of Italian Nicolo Bulega (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) in fifth.

Kasma Daniel (Onexox TKKR SAG Team), Jorge Navarro (Beta Tools Speed Up) and Andi Farid Izdihar (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) crashed unhurt in FP1.

The intermediate class will be back on track for FP2 at 15:10 (GMT+2).
