Rins edges out Nakagami in closely fought FP4

Race pace settings and different tyres were tested in the 30 minutes ahead of qualifying, Zarco completes top three

Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) set a 1:30.895 to top the standings in FP4 at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana, last Sunday’s podium finisher is again looking tidy in race trim. Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu) was 0.100 seconds off in second place with Johann Zarco (Esponsorama Racing) completing the top three.

Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Championship leader Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) completed the top five ahead of qualifying, Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) continued to struggle with a P16 finish. Just 0.8 seconds covered the top 20 in a staggeringly close session, the fight for victory tomorrow is shaping up to be fierce.
