Two Wheels for life launches "MotoGP™ Stars Holiday Auction"

The official charity of MotoGP™ continues fundraising for pandemic-affected African communities

With the 2020 MotoGP™ season at a close, fans can still get a taste of their heroes and bid for signed memorabilia in Two Wheels for Life’s online Christmas auction. Each item from a host of the biggest names in the sport will be available to bid on for three weeks, and the auction will run throughout the winter break until all items are sold, raising important funds for Two Wheels for Life-supported programmes in Africa.

2020 hosted a very different MotoGP™ World Championship, with COVID-19 restrictions prohibiting spectators and fans from seeing the sport up close and personal at most circuits. Sadly, that also obliged the restriction of usual Two Wheels for Life fundraising activities on site at a time when rural communities across many different African countries are in need of health supplies more than ever, with basic medical resources already scarce before the pandemic hit.

Though the annual Day of Champions couldn’t go ahead, Dorna has worked closely with Two Wheels for Life to organise items for the charity to auction over the Christmas break. With help from riders, teams and Dorna Sports, everybody can still lend a land to those in need this festive season to ensure the activities and actions funded by Two Wheels for Life can continue thanks to this virtual auction.

Items available for auction include gloves signed by 2020 MotoGP™ World Champion Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and knee sliders signed by nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), as well as boots, gloves and other unique pieces of memorabilia signed by the likes of Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team), Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), Danilo Petrucci (Ducati Team), Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and more.

Each item will be listed on the Charity Stars website for three weeks before bidding closes. For more information and to bid, click here.
