LCR Honda Castrol sign Piero Ricciuti for 2021 eSport season

2020 LCR eSport gamer Putut 'Moe' Maulana stays within the LCR family, as a reserve rider for the season

LCR Honda Castrol eSports Team is pleased to announce that Piero Ricciuti will be the official rider competing in the 2021 MotoGP™ eSport Championship. Piero, or PieroRicciuti55_, who is supported by Pro2Be agency, the #1 eSports Agency in Italy, began his collaboration with the LCR team in 2020, when he was selected as reserve player.

Piero made quite an impression when he qualified for the 2019 MotoGP™ eSport draft at the age of 16, but he was unable to participate in the Championship due to age requirements. The young talent qualified again, P3, in 2020. Piero made his debut in the last race of the 2020 MotoGP™ eSport Championship, riding for HRC as he stepped in as their reserve rider.

In 2021, the Italian has proven his worth once again finishing in an impressive 2nd overall in the draft selection, out of the best 25 players around the world earning his position as the official LCR Honda Castrol eSports rider for the 2021 season. The Global series will begin next June 11th.

2020 LCR eSports player Putut “Moe” Maulana stays within the LCR family, as a reserve rider for this season. Moe will continue to collaborate with the team as he has offered to train with and support Piero throughout the year.

The MotoGP™ eSport Championship is entering its fifth season and its audience keeps growing. Since its beginnings in 2017, the championship has accumulated 80 million video views, 338 million impressions and 10.5 million engagements. The Online Challenges, plus the on-site and virtual events, make the MotoGP™ eSport Championship one of the biggest racing competitions in the gaming landscape.

Lucio Cecchinello: "I’m very pleased to have Piero in the LCR Team as Official eSport player for 2021. He showed great potential in the WINDTRE Rising Stars Series in 2020 and we are looking forward to see him in action in the Final Series! Also, we are delighted to say that Putut “Moe” Maulana will stay with us as replacement rider and coach: he’s been part of the LCR family for 3 years now and we’re happy to be able to count on his precious experience at the top level of MotoGP eSport. We have a strong team and we can’t wait for the first race to start!"

Piero Ricciuti: "I am very proud to announce that I will represent the LCR Honda CASTROL team in the 2021 MotoGP eSport Championship. I will do my best to achieve great results. See you soon and full gas."
