Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was fastest once again in FP4 at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley but the big story was the weather. Finally, it started raining, just 10 minutes into the last session before the MotoGP™ field starts qualifying at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello.
That led to a pause in the action but, while there was lightning in the distance, the shower over the Mugello circuit was light – and that might be the worst possible scenario for riders. Demonstrating just how challenging tyre choice could be in Q1 and Q2, Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) tried both slick and wet Michelin tyres in the closing minutes, and the grooved rubber looked to be wearing out quickly.
Doesn't look like the rain will let up any time soon... ☔️

Officially, the top three was Bagnaia on a 1:46.614, Bezzecchi on a 1:47.047, and Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) on a 1:47.075, times all set before the rain started to come down. Marquez, however, is going into Q1, which starts next!
