È stato un inizio in salita quello di Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) a Losail che è finito due volte a terra ma senza riportare conseguenze. Lo spagnolo chiude la prima giornata a di test con 16 giri all’attivo, il miglior crono di 1’55”900 e il dodicesimo tempo. Il pilota di Cervera ha provato diversi assetti per la sua moto tra cui la nuova aereo-carena che però l’ha fatto scivolare già al primo giro in pista.
"Non possiamo dire che questo giorno è stato uno dei migliori ma ce ne sono ancora due. Abbiamo lavorato duramente per provare molte cose diverse, tra cui una nuova carenatura che deve essere testata ulteriormente. Al momento non sono preoccupato perché comunque il nostro passo non è stato così male. La prima caduta è stata per colpa mia perché ho frenato troppo tardi, ma nella seconda si è trattata di una classica scivolata causata dall’abbassamento della temperatura. Domani è un altro giorno e cercheremo di fare progressi per adattare la nostra moto a questa pista".
Marc Marquez, P12: “I can’t say it’s been one of our best days, but it was only the first and we worked a lot on testing a lot of different things – including a new fairing we want to continue evaluating. Some things worked well, but a few others we still need to adjust. I’m not too worried at having not put in a fast lap, because our rhythm is pretty good and I’m satisfied. I crashed twice – the first one was my fault because I braked too late, and the second was a typical crash for this track – almost at the end of the session when the temperature had dropped and the conditions weren’t great. In any case, tomorrow is another day and we’ll work on the set up of the bike on this track, trying to improve it.”
