Baz: “I’m really happy about coming back”

His foot isn’t yet at 100%, but Loris Baz is fit enough to return to his beloved Ducati after his injury in Mugello.

A turn one crash in Mugello has seen Loris Baz (Avintia Racing) miss both the Catalan and Dutch GPs, the French rider needing surgery and extensive rest. But he can wait no longer, the draw of his Ducati is simply too much! Baz will be back on track for the German GP and while he knows his foot will be a limiting factor, the weekend will allow Baz to get his eye for racing back in. In 2015 Baz made his debut at the track, taking 19th.

Before the injury Baz’s season hadn’t gone to plan, 12th in France his best result. While a similar result is doubtful in Germany, his teammate’s haul of points prove that the bike can fight for the top ten and it’s just a matter of time before Baz is back at his fighting best.

Loris Baz: “I’m really happy about coming back after my injury. My foot is much better now, it’s not at 100% and still painful, but I can’t wait any more to jump back on my bike. My aim for this weekend is to get the feeling back and then to try to ride the best possible race on Sunday. I don’t want to take risks this weekend, my goal will be just to ride my bike and to get back on the pace. We’ll have a test in Austria after the race, and I’m sure these two days will be really helpful for us. I’m looking forward to see my bike and to try the improvements made by Pirro with the electronics. I’m eager to get back after watching the last two races from my sofa.”
