Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Bradley Smith was set to take part in the Oschersleben 8 Hours endurance race following the Czech GP, with the Brit joining the YART Yamaha Official EWC Team on track to work towards the FIM EWC title in 2016. The MotoGP™ podium finisher crashed in Free Practice however, injuring his left leg in an incident with another rider. Although initial reports claimed a broken femur for Smith, further examination has seen the injury assessed as a deep cut in the Yamaha rider's thigh, rather than a fracture.
As a result, the Brit will not be back on track in the German event - but will be hoping to be fighting fit for his home GP at Silverstone on 2nd September.
Ok.... grabbed my phone. No brokern bones on the x-ray. Just gotta stitch up my leg and then assess any further injuries. #luckyboy
