Iannone to miss Motegi

Further recovery required for the 'Maniac'

Ducati Team rider Andrea Iannone is set to miss the upcoming Motul Grand Prix of Japan, having been advised by medical staff that the vertebra fracture suffered by the Italian in FP1 in Misano is in need of further recuperation before the Austrian GP winner gets back on track.

Recovery is going well for Iannone but to assure the quickest full recuperation possible, he will not participate in the Japanese GP. The following weekend then hails Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, where the Italian completed the podium last season following one of the most stunning races of the modern era, with Iannone hoping to be fit in time for this year’s race.

The Ducati Team have elected not to replace Iannone in Japan, and will therefore only field recent Japanese GP top five finisher Andrea Dovizioso.
