Lorenzo: “Today’s result is quite good…”

Top five for the ‘Spartan’ in FP1 under the floodlights

Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) was the fastest Ducati on Day 1 in the desert, as FP1 got the #QatarGP off to a flier. Topping timesheets briefly before ending the session in fifth, Lorenzo would go through the Q2 if the weather on Friday is to change.

The five-time World Champion is aiming for improved race pace as the weekend goes on, concentrating on the harder tyre.

JL99, P5: “Today’s result is quite good, but we are still some way off the fastest times. Our aim for tomorrow will be to try and find the same sensations with the hard tyre, with which we are still struggling to set some competitive times, and have the confidence required to achieve a good race pace.”
