Successful surgery for Rodrigo

RBA rider has operation on collarbone break from #QatarGP

After his crash at the end of FP1 of the Qatar Grand Prix and the consequent fracture of the right collarbone, Gabriel Rodrigo quickly returned to Barcelona to start his recovery. On Monday afternoon, the Argentinian rider underwent surgery to fix the break - which was performed by Xavier Mir, Head of the Upper Extremity Unit of the Quirón-Dexeus Hospital and MotoGP™ Traumatology Coordinator.

Rodrigo will start his rehabilitation on Tuesday, before his physical condition will be assessed upon arrival at his home race in Argentina and the Medical Committee will confirm whether he is fit to race there.

Xavier Mir: Rodrigo underwent surgery for a displaced fracture of the right collarbone. An open reduction was made, together with an internal fixation with a blocked titanium plate with six orifices. He will remain at the hospital for the next 24 hours and he will start his funcional recovery immediately.”
