Moto2™: Warm Up and Sunday Guide

EG 0,0 Marc VDS remain top ahead of 250th race start

Polesitter Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) topped Warm Up for the intermediate class at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya, ahead of Marcel Schrötter (Dynavolt Intact GP) and Championship leader Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS).

Sunday Guide:

- Alex Márquez will start from pole position for the second time in Moto2™, the 58th pole in Moto2h for Spanish riders.

- Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) qualified in second on the grid, his fourth front row start in Moto2™. He will be aiming to win back-to-back races for the first time since 2007, when he won the 125cc races at Donington and Assen.

- Since 2013, the rider who qualified on pole position in Barcelona has won the Moto2™ race.

- Lorenzo Baldassarri Forward Racing Team) will complete the front row, the third of his grand prix career.

- Heading the second row is Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia), equalling his best qualifying result of this season. He crossed the line in third last year in Barcelona from fourth place on the grid.

- Tom Lüthi (CarExpert Interwetten), who has qualified in fifth position, has three times been on the podium in Moto2™ at this track. Nakagami and Lüthi are the only current riders on the Moto2 grid who have stood on the podium in the class in Barcelona.

- Completing the second row is Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS), his worst qualifying result since Phillip Island last year when he qualified in ninth. An eighth place in 2015 is his best race result at this track.

- Jorge Navarro (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) qualified in eighth, his second best qualifying result of his rookie season.
