With track conditions much warmer in FP3, the timesheets remained largely unchanged on the charge to Q2 – with Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) heading Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) and Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), and all three men within a tenth.
Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) is fourth, with Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar), reigning Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) and teammate Dani Pedrosa next up – and Pedrosa was only 0.001 off his compatriot. It was another incredibly tight 0.001 back to Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) and somehow only another 0.001 back to newly renewed Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).
The biggest incident in FP3 was also courtesy of Rossi, as the ‘Doctor’ took a tumble early on at Turn 5 -rider ok. But his teammate Maverick Viñales was another headline after not being able to improve, left in P11 on the combined timesheets as Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) locked out the top ten.
