Bagnaia remains quickest, Fenati in close pursuit

The Championship leader was the man to beat again ahead of qualifying, with Fenati and Navarro his nearest challengers

Francesco Bagnaia (SKY Racing Team VR46) continued his perfect form at the TT Motul Assen after topping the Moto2™ FP3 session to lead the way into qualifying, setting the weekend's fastest time of 1:37.930 to be the only man to dip under the 1:38 bracket.

Rookie Romano Fenati (Marinelli Snipers Team) lead for most of the session after setting a 1:38.005 on his fourth lap, only for the Championship leader to beat it with four minutes remaining – the Italian finished second. It was a great session for Jorge Navarro (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) ahead of qualifying, the Spaniard set the third quickest time, 0.357 back from Bagnaia.

Sam Lowes (Swiss Innovative Investors) strung together an impressive run at the end of FP3, setting his personal best time on the final lap to jump up to fourth quickest, with Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) rounding out the top five on Saturday morning.

Eric Granado (Forward Racing Team) and Joe Roberts (NTS RW Racing GP) crashed during the session, both riders ok.

With the top 20 covered by a second in the intermediate class, you won’t want to miss Moto2™ qualifying at Assen which gets underway at 15:05 local time (GMT +2).
