The German Grand Prix marks a historic round for Dorna Sports, with a record number of OnBoard cameras fitted to the MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ class machines: up to 15 premier class riders and 29 across every category will be equipped with devices.
Each MotoGP™ rider can carry up to four cameras on their two bikes: one at the front (pointing forwards), one on the rear (pointing backwards), a ‘butt’ camera and one mounted near the rider's dashboard, pointing towards the rider when he is on the bike. In addition, one rider per GP has a 360-degree camera, allowing for live 360 broadcasts – Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) will carry this device at the Sachsenring.
As was done with Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) at Assen, it is expected that Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and Rossi will premiere the Screen HUD (brand new graphics shown on the rider’s bike screen).
Moreover, the top six Moto2™ and Moto3™ qualifiers will carry three cameras each, with the two leaders in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup carrying one each.
