Rodrigo sets the pace in Moto3™ FP1

Argentine rider the only man in the 1:42s as Arbolino and Dalla Porta round out the top three on Friday morning in Le Mans

Gabriel Rodrigo (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3) has started the Shark Helmets Grand Prix de France in top form as he topped the timesheets in Moto3™ FP1, his 1:42.954 was enough to edge out second fastest Tony Arbolino (VNE Snipers), with Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing) closing out the top three.

Dalla Porta was one of four crashers at Turn 3 in the cool Le Mans conditions on Friday morning as the lightweight class began track proceedings at the French GP. Kazuki Masaki (BOE Skull Rider Mugen Race) finished 0.166 off the pace in fourth after doing a personal best time on his final lap, with SIC58 Squadra Corse’s Tatsuki Suzuki completing a top five split by 0.267.

The other three Turn 3 victims were Jerez race winner Niccolo Antonelli (SIC58 Squadra Corse), Makar Yurchenko (BOE Skull Rider Mugen Race) and Petronas Sprinta Racing’s John McPhee – all riders perfectly ok.

Moto3™ FP2 will be getting underway at 13:15 local time (GMT+2), don’t miss it!
