#Dovi300: The best three races of my career

Ahead of his 300th GP start, Andrea Dovizioso sits down with motogp.com to reveal his favourite three races

Mission Winnow Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso celebrates his 300th Grands Prix start this weekend at the Gran Premio d’Italia and ahead of his landmark race, the Italian sat down with motogp.com to detail his favourite three races from his 18-year World Championship career.

Desmo Dovi did admit that “it’s not easy to find just three from 300” but he started his top three with his one and only victory at Mugello from two years ago. After waiting sixteen years, and finishing on the podium on four occasions during that wait, Dovizioso finally tasted victory at Mugello after breaking clear of Maverick Viñales in 2017.

“It’s not easy to find three from 300 but first, the victory here at Mugello in 2017. It was a really important victory and in the way we did it, so definitely one of the three.”

Following that, Dovi went back twelve years to the Turkish GP of 2007. Then styling a number 34 aboard his iconic Scot Racing Team Aprilia, the Italian fought off Jorge Lorenzo and Alvaro Bautista on the final lap in a classic 250cc scrap.

“I want to keep the victory in 250cc in Turkey against Jorge [Lorenzo] and [Alvaro] Bautista, it was a really nice battle until the last corner.”

Finally, he had to go for one of his many last lap, last corner duels he’s had with Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez over the past few years and eventually went with Austria 2017.

“Another one, fortunately I have more but I’ll pick one, Austria with Marc. It was nice.”
