Arenas on top in Warm Up as Moto3™ race beckons

The Spaniard left it late to go into the Moto3™ encounter on a high, as he pipped Tony Arbolino whilst other big names crashed

The final day of action at the Chang International Circuit commenced for the PTT Thailand Grand Prix. Despite the rain that had been forecast, the Moto3™ Warm Up started in sunny conditions, and it was Albert Arenas (Gaviota Angel Nieto Team) who made it count, pipping Tony Arbolino (VNE Snipers) to go into the race on top of the pile.

With the top 14 riders in the championship still mathematically able to win the 2019 Moto3™ World Championship, Warm Up was crucial, with Albert Arenas (Gaviota Angel Nieto Team) pipping Tony Arbolino during the final moments of the 20-minute session. Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Leopard Racing) came to the fore ahead of racing and was third. Gabriel Rodrigo (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3) had a strong session but suffered a big crash on the exit of Turn 10; he limped away but was OK.

Fourth in the Championship and fifth in the Warm Up session, John McPhee (Petronas Sprinta Racing) was looking good too. Down in 15th place, Andrea Migno (Mugen Race) crashed at the final corner but was OK. Ricardo Rossi (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3) had a very strong session, in sixth.
