2020 FIM MotoGP™ World Championship Provisional Entry Lists

The official entry lists for the 2020 MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ World Championships have been announced. All three classes feature important changes throughout, Whilst Moto2™ and Moto3™ have team changes too. From Alex Marquez moving to the Repsol Honda Team in the premier class to swaps at Leopard Racing in Moto3™, there’s plenty to get used to as 2020 commences.

The MotoGP™ grid is now confirmed, with Alex Marquez graduating to Repsol Honda last night. From Cervera, he takes over the ride left vacant by Jorge Lorenzo and joins his brother Marc in 2020. The other two new recruits come from KTM, with the arrival of Brad Binder within the official team. The South African, who now sports the No. 33, was initially recruited by the Red Bull KTM Tech3 Team, so the structure led by Hervé Poncharal has decided to turn to Iker Lecuona to accompany Miguel Oliveira, with the Spaniard replacing the Portuguese rider during Valencian round.

The first notable fact in Moto2™ is the disappearance of the KTM chassis. From now on, the American Racing KTM and Red Bull KTM Ajo teams will be provided by Kalex. Whilst KTM leave, new faces join the grid, starting with Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Italtrans Racing Team), Andi Farid Izdihar (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia), Marcos Ramirez (American Racing), Aron Canet (Angel Nieto Team), Kasma Daniel Bin Kasmayudin (ONEXOX TKKR SAG Team) and Edgar Pons (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2).

Other riders are changing teams, as Nicolò Bulega joins the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2. Similarly, for Sam Lowes and Simone Corsi, now with EG 0.0 Marc VDS and MV Agusta Temporary Forward respectively. Jesko Raffin (NTS RW Racing GP), Tetsuta Nagashima (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Hafizh Syahrin (Angel Nieto Team), who returns from MotoGP™, Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46), Jake Dixon (Petronas Sprinta Racing) and Xavi Vierge (Petronas Sprinta Racing).

Entry list Moto2 - 2020

Eight rookies will compete in this category: Ryusei Yamanaka (Estrella Galicia 0.0), Jason Dupasquier (Pruestel GP), Jeremy Alcoba (Kömmerling Gresini Moto3), Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Tech3), Barry Baltus (Pruestel GP), who will come later in the season due to being under the minimum age, Maximilian Kofler (CIP - Green Power), Yuki Kunii (Honda Team Asia) and Carlos Tatay (Reale Avintia Arizona 77).

As in Moto2™, there’s plenty of changes: Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing), Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing), Filip Salac (Snipers Team), Andrea Migno (Sky Racing Team VR46), Alonso Lopez (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team), Romano Fenati (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) – now a two-man team – Raúl Fernández (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Kaito Toba (Ajax Red Bull KTM), Ayumu Sasaki (Red Bull KTM Tech3), Stefano Nepa (Angel Nieto Team) and Khairul Idham Pawi (Petronas Sprinta Racing), all feature in Moto3™.
