Arbolino forced to miss Aragon Grand Prix

The Moto3™ title contender is required to self-isolate after coming into close contact with a COVID-19 infected plane passenger

Moto3™ World Championship contender Tony Arbolino (Rivacold Snipers Team) will miss this weekend’s Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragon. The Italian is required to self-isolate after being identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 infected passenger on his flight from Paris to Milan after the French GP.

Unfortunately, this means Arbolino – after securing a podium at Le Mans – will have to sit out the action at the first MotorLand Aragon race, despite returning a negative PCR test. Arbolino won’t be replaced at the Aragon GP, and we hope to see the Championship contender back on track at next weekend’s Gran Premio Liqui Moly de Teruel.

“Last night I was informed by the Ministry of Health that a confirmed case of COVID-19 had been identified on my return flight from Le Mans. Unfortunately, the positive person in question was sitting two rows behind mine and this forces me to carry out a quarantine period, even if I carried out 3 swabs which confirm my negativity and even if I have not been in close contact with this person unknown to me,” said Arbolino, via his Instagram page.

“I am very sad, angry and disappointed that I will have to miss this race in Aragon. Also because in all these months I have always scrupulously respected all the restrictive measures to protect my health and that of others. In any case, I cannot and have not been able to do anything to change this situation and I just have to follow the instructions of the Italian Ministry of Health which, like all of us, has at heart the protection of our health.

“There are things that we cannot control, but we can certainly control how we react to things: now I will do this quarantine to load up to the maximum and return even more determined and hungrier than before. The goal remains clear. See you next week!”
