Rossi and the VR46 Academy set for Portimao test

The Doctor, Morbidelli, Bagnaia, Marini and more will be in Portugal from the 3-4 of February

The MotoGP™ riders will have to wait until the start of March until they get their leg over a premier class machine in 2021, but plenty of riders across the classes are dusting off the cobwebs by hitting the asphalt on road bikes.

And the same goes for the VR46 Academy riders. Valentino Rossi (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and his protégés are heading to the Algarve International Circuit for two days of testing between the 3-4 of February, as the Italians attack Portimao’s rollercoaster on road bikes.

The Doctor will be joined by 2021 teammate Franco Morbidelli, Ducati Team’s Francesco Bagnaia and premier class rookie Luca Marini (SKY VR46 Avintia Team). These four riders will be riding Yamaha and Ducati superbikes respectively, getting themselves reacquainted with the circuit that will host Round 3 of the season.

Joining the MotoGP™ riders will be Moto2™ SKY Racing Team VR46’s Marco Bezzecchi and Celestino Vietti, with Stefano Manzi (Pons HP40), Andrea Migno (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Niccolo Antonelli (Reale Avintia Moto3) also heading to Portimao in February.
