Savadori and Marini take Q2 spots in nail-biting Q1

Joan Mir, Alex Rins and Francesco Bagnaia all missed out on the top two in a thrilling session at Le Mans

Aprilia Racing Team Gresini's Lorenzo Savadori put in a stunning performance at the SHARK French Grand Prix by claiming a Q2 spot for the first time in his MotoGP™ career all after crashing earlier in the session. The Italian went down at the final corner, sprinted down pitlane, jumped onto his second bike before then stealing a Q2 spot away from teammate Aleix Espargaro.

The rookie will be joined there by another one in the form of SKY Racing Team VR46's Luca Marini. The Ducati man taking second place with his final flying lap in a nail-biting finale. It means Espargaro will be joined on the fifth row of the grid for Sunday's French Grand Prix by Team Suzuki Ecstar pair Joan Mir and Alex Rins, with World Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) starting from 16th.
