Lowes comfortably clear in Moto2™ Warm Up

The Brit had three-tenths to spare over Somkiat Chantra and Marco Bezzecchi in Styria

Sam Lowes lived up to the stereotype that the British ride well in the rain, with the Elf Marc VDS Racing rider comfortably quickest during Moto2™ Warm Up at Michelin® Grand Prix of Styria. The 30-year-old’s 1:39.026 gave him 0.326 seconds to spare over Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia), with Marco Bezzecchi (SKY Racing Team VR46) in third.

Aron Canet (Aspar Team Moto2) fell victim to the wet conditions at turn three, meaning he couldn’t improve on a time that has him in P6, trailing Fabio Di Giannantonio (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Hafizh Syahrin (NTS RW Racing GP) in fourth and fifth respectively.

The intermediate class sees lights out for their race at 12.20pm (CET), make sure you tune in then.
