Navarro fastest after dominant FP1 display

The Spaniard sits 0.4s clear of Lowes in Moto2™’s opening session of the weekend

Jorge Navarro (+EGO Speed Up) is the rider to beat after Moto2™ FP1 at the Gran Premio TISSOT de Aragon, as the Spaniard sits 0.473s clear of Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) thanks to a 1:53.100. Marco Bezzecchi (SKY Racing Team VR46) is just over half a second down on Navarro’s superior pace on Friday morning, the Italian claimed P3 on the timesheets.

Augusto Fernandez (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) and World Championship leader Remy Gardner (Red Bull KTM Ajo) completed the top five, with the recovering Raul Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo) seemingly – and understandably – in a little bit of discomfort after suffering a small metacarpal fracture last week. The man second in the Championship completed 10 laps in FP1 and finished P7.

Aron Canet (Kipin Energy Aspar Team), 2019 Moto3™ Aragon winner, crashed unhurt at Turn 12.

The Moto2™ riders will be back on track for FP2 at 15:10 local time (GMT+2).
