Bradl to replace Marc Marquez in Portugal

HRC’s test rider will step in for the absent eight-time World Champion at the penultimate round of the season

HRC test rider Stefan Bradl will replace Marc Marquez in the Repsol Honda Team garage at this weekend’s Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve, with the eight-time World Champion side-lined after he suffered a slight concussion during a training accident.

The Algarve GP will be Bradl’s fifth appearance of 2021, with all four of the German’s previous Grand Prix rides leading to point-scoring finishes – an 11th in Qatar his best result so far. In addition, Portimao holds fond memories for the 2011 Moto2™ World Champion, who claimed an impressive seventh place in Portugal last season.

Bradl: “First of all I hope Marc is recovering well and he can be back on track soon. I am looking forward to riding again as Portimao is an enjoyable circuit where we had a good result towards the end of 2020. It’s never easy to jump on the bike, but we have had a lot of good bike time this year between the races and testing.”
