Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) gave title rival Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing) a cheeky wave at the end of Moto3™ Warm Up at the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve after the World Championship leader topped the Sunday morning session by 0.785s, a spicy start to proceedings. Acosta has his second match point of 2021 available in Portimao today, but starting from P14, he has work to do. Foggia, starting P4, was third quickest in Warm Up behind Acosta and Niccolo Antonelli (Avintia VR46 Academy).

Izan Guevara (MuchoNeumatico GASGAS Aspar Team) and front row starter Adrian Fernandez (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team) crashed in the 20-minute morning session, the latter was taken to the medical centre after a heavy tumble at Turn 7.
