Rossi and Marini retain 100km dei Campioni title

The brothers won the 7th edition of the 100km dei Campioni held at The Doctor's Ranch in Tavullia

On the 5th of December 2021, the 7th edition of the 100km dei Campioni took place at Valentino Rossi’s Ranch in his hometown of Tavullia. And just like they did in 2019, the last time the race took place because of the ongoing pandemic, Rossi and his brother Luca Marini (VR46 Racing Team) claimed victory.

The Italian pairing were joined on the podium by two more all-Italian pairs. Second place went to Elia Bartolini (Avintia Esponsorama Moto3) and Stefano Manzi, with Mattia Pasini and Lorenzo Baldassarri picking up third. In fact, the top five was dominated by Italy’s home heroes, with Andrea Migno (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Celestino Vietti (VR46 Racing Team) finishing fourth ahead of Marco Bezzecchi (VR46 Racing Team) and Niccolo Antonelli (VR46 Racing Team).

Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets - MSI) were the first non-Italian duo in sixth place, as the Spaniard and Brazilian beat Tito Rabat and Xavier Artigas (CFMoto Racing PrüstelGP). Albert Arenas (Aspar Team Moto2) and Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Alberto Surra (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Federico Fuligni and Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing), who teamed up with five-time World Champion Jorge Lorenzo, completed the top 10.

On Saturday, a shorter individual race – named the Americana – also took place. This was won by Marini, who finished ahead of Rossi and Vietti.
