Zarco top, Bagnaia crashes in a rain-soaked FP1

The Frenchman was 1.4s clear of anyone on Friday morning at Misano as Italy’s Pecco tumbles unhurt in the tricky conditions

Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) enjoyed a very successful opening MotoGP™ Free Practice session of the weekend at the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna, as the premier class complete a rain-soaked Friday morning on the Adriatic coast. Second fastest Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was 1.4s down on Zarco’s 1:42.374, Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) was third as teammate Francesco Bagnaia crashed late on at Turn 8.

Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) made it three Ducatis in the top four with Italian Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) ending the 45-minute session as the quickest Yamaha. Bagnaia ended FP1 in P6 despite his late tumble, with World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) finishing 18th.

Alex Marquez (LCR Honda Castrol) and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) both crashed unhurt in the opening stages of the session, Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) was another rider to crash.
