Lopez smashes lap record ahead of Aldeguer on Friday morning

The Spaniard was quickest in Free Practice ahead of Aldeguer and Championship leader Roberts

The Moto2™ field was straight on the pace at the Michelin® Grand Prix de France, with Alonso Lopez (Folladore SpeedUp) breaking the lap record on Friday morning. The #21 set a relentless pace at the end of the session, crossing the line to set a 1:35.766. Lopez was 0.155s quicker than teammate Fermin Aldeguer – making it a Folladore SpeedUp one-two. Aldeguer was ahead of Joe Roberts (OnlyFans American Racing Team), who rounded out the top three in a strong start to the weekend where the American will be hoping to defend his Championship lead in France.

Manuel Gonzalez (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2™) was fourth after just missing out on a spot in the top three – 0.461s adrift from Lopez. Behind Gonzalez was Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI), who set 20 laps across the session – improving late to round out the top five. Albert Arenas (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2™) crashed in the final five minutes of the session, ending Free Practice down in 17th. Further down the field, Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) returned to track after a crash at the Spanish GP - finishing 14th on Friday morning.
