Binder ITW: “Aki is an incredible guy to have on your side”

Brad Binder chats to motogp.com about how he felt after his maiden GP victory and his relationship with Team Manager Aki Ajo.

The South African currently leads the Moto3™ World Championship by 44 points from Jorge Navarro. Binder, who has three wins to his name, took his first ever GP victory at Jerez after he was forced to start from 35th due to a problem with his bikes engine mapping.

"It didn't feel real at the time..."

The Red Bull KTM Ajo South African rider who currently leads the Moto3™ World Championship admitted it took a while for his first victory to sink in, after fighting his way from the back of the grid: “You know…It was so strange. It didn’t feel real at the time, but probably three or four hours later when I was in the car on the way home I realized that I had just won my first GP!”

Binder also talked about the importance of his relationship with his Team Manager Aki Ajo: “Aki is an incredible guy to have on your side. He has got so much experience and he has had so many riders that have been fighting for the World Championship.”
