The wait is over, the first day to join the selection process has been revealed as the 15th of July, the date on which the journey to being a MotoGP™ champion could start!
The 2017 Asia Talent Cup is the best opportunity around to begin your career as a motorcycle racer with a calendar that includes, among other events, rounds alongside the MotoGP™ and WorldSBK championships. The machine will be the proven Honda NSF250R, a pure Moto3™ bike. The level of competition is high, young riders are subjected to the demands and rigors of a professional rider, able to take advantage of coaches, all with the goal of achieving victory.
Enrolment Period
The registration period for this new campaign is open from July 15th to August 21st, 2016 and reaches an extensive audience, especially on the internet with social networks a major avenue of sharing information amongst the target audience of 12 to 20 year olds. Federations, clubs, schools, circuits and promoters are also participating in the campaign, which reaches more than 15 countries across Asia, including Australia and New Zealand.
How the selection works
The aim of the Asia Talent Cup is to look for new talent, there’s no specified minimum amount of competition experience required, but a certain skill level must be shown. Previous experience can include dirt-track, motocross, scooter or mini bike racing. Applicants must be born between January 1st, 1996 and February 1st, 2004.
From all the candidates who register between July 15th and August 21st, 21 will be selected to attend the Selection Event with the choices published on the 7th of September 2016.
The Selection Event is scheduled for the 25th and 26th of October at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. During these two days the candidates will be interviewed and have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and ability on track. Finally, after the selection process the initial list will be reduced further, allowing riders from the 2016 edition of the Cup to remain, and form part of the field of 22 riders for 2017.
