Antonelli undergoes collarbone surgery

The Italian had a flawless operation to repair his collarbone, broken during the German Grand Prix.

Tuesday morning saw Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) go under the knife to have his left collarbone repaired. The intervention came as a result of the fracture sustained during Qualifying for the German GP. The surgery placed a small plate on the bone to speed up the healing process. He’ll need to have ten days rest before beginning physical therapy and gym work. He is set to return for the Grand Prix of Austria in August.

Niccolo Antonelli: “The surgery went well, I'm glad I did because, in this way, the recovery times are faster. Now I will have to rest for a few days before I can train and begin to recover. Thanks especially to Prof. Porcellini and his staff for the professionalism and fast response times. Thanks also to all those who were close to me in these days and who have shown me their support.”
