Day of Champions returns to British GP Weekend

The Thursday fan favourite is back to kick off the Octo British GP at Silverstone.

Anticipation is growing for the biggest event in British motorcycle racing, with the Octo British Grand Prix set to open its gates on Thursday 1st September at Silverstone – and the festivities will once again begin with the Day of Champions.

Run by Two Wheels for Life, the Day Of Champions begins a full day of activities when gates open at 9am – with stunt displays from the likes of Dougie Lampkin MBE, live music, and interviews with the stars of MotoGP™. Keith Huewen will also be talking to the people who make MotoGP™ work in his unique ‘Unsung Heroes of MotoGP™, giving another insight into the world’s fastest motorcycle racing Championship.

Racing legend Kenny Roberts and five times 500cc MotoGP™ World champion Mick Doohan will also be joining  the stars of MotoGP™ and Two Wheels for Life co-founder Randy Mamola on the main stage in the Entertainment Zone, providing a full day of fan-focused activity from 9am to 8pm.

The flagship Day of Champions Charity Auction returns in 2016 to ensure the not-for-profit day raises the maximum possible for Two Wheels for Life to continue their life-saving work in Africa, giving fans the chance to buy priceless and unique pieces of memorabilia from the MotoGP™ World Championship - taking home a slice of history.

Some tickets also allow fans behind the scenes in MotoGP™ and into the paddock to get up close and personal with their favourite riders, providing an unforgettable and unique experience.

Tickets for the entertainment zone are £15 pre-booked and include access to the Day of Champions charity auction. To be part of the action and save lives in Africa, find out everything you need to know on the official Silverstone website.
